Terms of service
Live Leaderboard and MyGolf are run by Aaron Hodkin, trading as Desirable Golfer ("we", "us"), a sole trader in the United Kingdom. Prices are in pounds sterling; we are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. These terms are the deal between us and anyone who uses the service, in plain English. Last updated 30 September 2026. Our privacy notice explains what we hold about you.
1. What the service is
- Live Leaderboard lets organisers run golf competitions: entries, tee times, live scoring on players' phones, leaderboards, clubhouse screens, prize giving, knockouts, series and reports.
- MyGolf is a golfer's own account: rounds, statistics, mates, challenges and practice.
- Both run in a web browser. There is nothing to install and we do not sell or support any other software.
2. Accounts
- You sign in with your email address, by an emailed link or a password you set. Keep your sign-in details, board PINs and player codes to yourself. Anything done with them counts as done by you until you tell us otherwise.
- Organiser accounts must be run by someone entitled to act for the club, society, tour or company they set up. You are responsible for the people you invite to help run your boards.
- You must be 16 or over to hold a MyGolf account. Juniors may play in events; the organiser is responsible for any details entered about them.
- You can delete your MyGolf account from your profile at any time. Scores on competition boards remain, as they are the event's record.
3. Plans, prices and payment
- Current plans and prices are on the organiser pricing and MyGolf pricing pages. Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies.
- While we are in beta everything is free. We will say clearly, on the site and by email to account holders, before any plan starts to charge.
- Paid plans are billed in advance by card through Stripe, monthly or yearly for MyGolf Pro and for an organisation's season, and per event for a single golf day. A plan renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled.
- If a payment fails we retry it, and the plan carries on for a short grace period. If it keeps failing the account drops to the free plan. Nothing you have entered is deleted.
- Free months of Pro from a referral or a founding-member offer are applied as a trial at the start of a paid plan and cannot be exchanged for money.
- We may change prices. A change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we give at least 30 days' notice by email before a renewal at a new price.
4. Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time. Use "Manage billing" in MyGolf or your organiser portal. Your plan stays active to the end of the period you have paid for, then drops to the free plan. You keep your rounds, boards and data.
Cooling-off. If you are a consumer you have 14 days from starting a paid plan to change your mind and receive a full refund. Because the plan starts straight away, when you pay you agree to immediate access and acknowledge that this cooling-off right ends once you have used the paid features. We will still refund the first 14 days of a MyGolf Pro plan on request if you have not logged or linked a round in that time.
Otherwise no refunds for part of a period, except where the service was unavailable for a whole event day through our fault, in which case we refund that event or that month.
5. Entry fees and sponsorship paid to organisers
- When players pay an entry fee or a sponsor pays for a hole through a board, the money goes to the organiser's own Stripe account. The organiser is the seller; we provide the shopping cart. Refunds of entry fees and sponsorships are the organiser's decision and are made from the organiser's Stripe account.
- Stripe's card fees apply to those payments. Any platform fee we take is shown to the organiser before payments are switched on.
6. Your content and your data
- You own what you enter: names, scores, rounds, logos, crests, sponsor artwork. You give us permission to store and display it to run the service, and to show competition boards to anyone with the board's link, as a clubhouse board would.
- Only enter details about other people, players, members or sponsors, that you are entitled to enter. Organisers must have a lawful basis to hold their players' contact details.
- MyGolf rounds and profiles are private to the golfer, and to us for support. Courses you add are private to your account unless we check them and share them.
- Do not upload anything unlawful, abusive or that you do not have the right to use. We may remove content or close accounts that break this.
7. Handicaps and results
- Handicap figures, playing handicaps and countback are worked out from what is entered. The organiser is responsible for checking entries, confirming results and awarding prizes. We are not a handicap authority and do not return scores to the World Handicap System.
- The MyGolf handicap estimate is for interest only and is not an official index.
8. Keeping the service running
- We aim to keep the service available, especially on event days, and publish live status at liveleaderboard.co.uk/status. Scores entered with no signal are kept on the phone and sent when the signal returns.
- Sometimes things break, including internet and mobile networks we do not control. We do not promise uninterrupted service. Keep a paper scorecard for anything that matters, as a club would.
- We may change or withdraw features with reasonable notice. If we close the service we will give at least 60 days' notice and a way to export your data.
9. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- Otherwise our total liability to you for anything arising from the service in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that 12 months, or £100 if you paid nothing.
- We are not liable for loss of profit, business or goodwill, or for disputes between players, organisers and sponsors.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Small changes take effect when published here; changes that affect your rights or prices are emailed to account holders 30 days ahead. Carrying on using the service after that means you accept them.
11. The legal bits
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If any part is found unenforceable the rest still applies.
